What Should I Use to Floss During My Orthodontic Treatment?

When you have braces, keeping them clean is very important in terms of the overall health of your mouth.  While flossing without braces is a difficult habit for many to pick up, having braces makes it that much more difficult.

Weaving in and out of the metal wires and brackets is difficult, so here are some alternatives you can use to make flossing easier!

waterpick for braces
from waterpik.com

Water pick – A water pick is a tool that many dentists use.  It sprays an accurate stream of water so you can flush out food and bacteria from in between your braces and your teeth.

You can find these in stores or online.

Alternatively, if you don’t want to spend a lot of money on a special tool, you can invest in these! Dental picks/brushes are very effective in cleaning around your braces and are so much easier than using traditional floss.
